Farcliff is a classic island home - a family retreat built in the 1960's on Harbour Island's famous pink sand beach and updated to provide modern comforts.

The great room revolves around a massive coral fireplace and is stocked with assorted games, books, and a CD/MP3 player. Its "back and front" sliding glass walls create an open design uniting the courtyard, house, and beach. All bedrooms have ceiling fans, ample closets and garden or ocean views. They connect to the living areas via louvered halls and breezeways.

The courtyard houses a barbecue pit and is dotted with adjustable chaises lounges, an umbrella-shaded table and chairs, and cocktail seating. During the day the courtyard blazes with tropical color from speciman hibiscus, frangipani, and bougainvillea - the perfect setting for a quiet breakfast or afternoon tea. In the evening, landscape lights accent the lone coconut palm as tree frogs serenade the cocktail set.

The fifty-foot veranda is the beachside gathering point - a breezy refuge from the noontime sun. And if the hammock overlooking the ocean is occupied after lunch, the reclining deck chairs will more than suffice during siesta. The moon-lit ocean is a perfect backdrop for alfresco dinners and after-dinner liqueurs.
